Dave Greenshields - Founder and President

Dave has worked in agricultural science for over 15 years. Prior to starting Insight, Dave was the Director of R&D for Saskatchewan Pulse Growers, where he was responsible for the research and commercialization pipelines of pea, lentil, chickpea, dry bean, faba bean and soybeans on behalf of 15,000 pulse crop farmer members. Before joining SPG, Dave worked in research, product development, and business development of microbial inoculants and biocontrol products at the Danish biotech company, Novozymes.

Dave holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and a PhD in Biology focused on plant pathology from the University of Saskatchewan, and held postdoctoral positions at The Sainsbury Lab and the National Research Council of Canada. He is a licensed Professional Agrologist, the author of 15 peer-reviewed scientific publications, and an inventor on 8 patents and applications, including a patented biological seed treatment formulation used on over 50 million acres globally.

 

Aruna Wickramarathna - Scientist and Lab Manager

Aruna has over ten years of research and development  experience in both academia and industry after graduation from the University of Alberta with a PhD in plant science. Before moving to Canada he obtained his BSc from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. In addition to extensive R&D experience in the biotechnology industry, Aruna has co-authored eight peer-reviewed publications and two book chapters.

 

Juan Felipe Mateus Maldonado - Microbial Formulation Chemist

Juan has over 10 years experience in industrial microbiology with expertise in the biological and physiochemical properties of plants, microbes and soil. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Industrial Microbiology and Biological Sciences from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, and has co-authored 6 peer reviewed publications.


 

Kassidy Macpherson -  Technical Project Manager

Kassidy earned her Bachelors degree in Biology from the University of Saskatchewan and completed postgraduate project management training through the Edwards School of Business. Her undergraduate studies focused on plant development and pathology as well as agricultural sustainability. Before joining Insight, Kassidy worked in agricultural research and development in the private and public sectors.
